Cal Video
Every booking comes with its own call
Cal Video is the video calling built into Cal.com. Each booking gets a room at its own link, guests join from the browser without an account, and on a team plan the call can be recorded and transcribed.
One demo, from the link to the recording
Lena gives Kenji a product demo on Thursday at 2:00pm. Step through the call.
Kenji opens the link in his invite and joins as a guest. No account, no download.
The recording comes to the inbox
When the recording is ready, everyone on the call gets an email with the download link. Transcripts arrive the same way when transcription emails are on.
Set it once per link
Each booking link decides who may record, whether recording and transcription start on their own, the language to transcribe in, and where people land when they leave.
No. Guests open the link from their invite and join from the browser with their name. Turn on Require email for guests if you want their email too.
Recording and transcription come with a team plan. Each link can stop guests or the organizer from recording or transcribing, or start both automatically, and everyone on the call is asked before either begins.
They stay with the booking. Open it in Bookings and choose View recordings or Check for transcripts, or use the download links Cal.com emails after the call.
Yes, through webhooks. Set a trigger for hosts or guests who didn't join, and Cal.com checks the call and marks them as no-shows on the booking.
The room opens an hour before the start time and closes four hours after the booking ends. Outside that window the link says the meeting hasn't started yet, or that it's in the past.
Yes. Cal Video is one location among many, so you can set another conferencing app as your default or pick one per link.
